Design Your Website For Desktop, Phone Screens, and Tablet Sized Screens!

The days of just having a website designed are OVER.  If you are hiring a website designer to design your website you need to make sure you ask these questions:

  1. Do you design the mobile site at the same time?
  2. Can you please send me over some links to view on my mobile devices of websites you designed?

After you do #1 and #2 above you need to test those websites for mobile optimization ... don't just take their word for it!!!  << VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!  If a website designer says to you: passing the Google mobile optimization test isn't what matters:  THEY ARE LYING ... srsly ... let me repeat:

If a website designer says to you: passing the Google mobile optimization test isn't what matters: then they are lying | The Editor's Touch

Think 'lying' is too harsh a word???  Fine, then they aren't up to date on what DOES MATTER and that may be even worse when it comes to your money being spent on a service.

The truth is this:  your mobile website matters to your visitors, it matters to Google, and it matters where traffic is concerned and where your SEO is concerned.  If your website designer is writing all sorts of fancy-pants exclusive code for your website then you BETTER MAKE SURE they are writing it to pass the mobile optimization test that Google demands you pass ... otherwise your traffic is going to take a major dive :(

I shared a post the other day about what my clients see happen to their traffic ... and it doesn't stop with traffic.  The formula I have personally devised for website design creates a major BOOST in awareness, searches, page views, interest, and confidence.  It's crazy cool.

We are in the mobile age ... people are on their phones.  You simply have to get on board with having a company website that WORKS WELL on all mobile devices.  Here is a post I wrote over a year ago ... it is branded for my first TET 'look' but the information is still valid >> mobile website traffic will be about half and growing.

Looking amazing on a mobile device is one thing .... easy to navigate is an entirely different story.  People browse differently on their phones then they would on a desktop ... the main missing thing???  A mouse.  Scrolling is what people are used to doing on their phones or tablets ... so you need to make sure your mobile website is scrollable and never leaves someone at a dead end.

BE YOUR OWN CRITIC!!!  I can't say that enough.  You have to go to your website and 'judge it' ... you have to test your website ... if you aren't getting hired or you aren't getting inquiries THERE IS A REASON.  My clients get inquires.  They get traffic.  They have great SEO and UEO scores ... if you don't, we should chat ;)
