A Note To Officiants ...

Officiants Moving Out Of The Way When The Bride and Groom Kiss At The Ceremony

Dear anyone leading a wedding ceremony and announcing the bride and groom or bride and bride or groom and groom or xyz and abc to KISS ... this is a little note for you ;)

Could you move????

I'm sorry (but not really), if we are being real here the last thing a bride and groom want in their BIG KISS photo is someone staring over their shoulder with a 'looks to be creepy' (sorry, but it does) smile on their face while they make-out in front of hundreds of people.  I feel like it's not that hard to say:

YOU MAY NOW KISS THE BRIDE (OR GROOM!)

and then just step to the side ... or even better, while you are saying it (just in case they really dive in for that kiss quickly) you start walking over to the side to CLEAR THE AREA for the photographer to do their job.  Now, I know what you're gonna say:

IT'S THE JOB OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER TO BE GOOD ENOUGH TO GET A SHOT WITHOUT ME IN IT

Srsly???  Did you really just think that??? So what you're saying is that somehow in that little ceremony space where you are standing directly BEHIND the couple - they somehow need to magically photograph that area without you in it?  Come on now ... that's not playing fair.

If all the officiants can come together and decide to MOVE OUTTA THE WAY during their 'you may now kiss' announcement I think you may just find that photographers will LOVE working with you ... like love love love love ... you will quickly become their FAVORITE officiant.  Wanna test it out????

Because after all ... it does look AMAZING when it happens ... see below with images by Mallory Dawn Photography:
