I Am So Excited to Announce the Website Launch for Velvet & Twine

our new website is perfection. simply sublime.
as our custom floral studio began to grow,
a goal was to have a website which accurately presented a portfolio of our work and a sense of our design aesthetic.
although we looked for a website designer for a few years, we never found someone who understood both the industry and clients we hoped to reach, and how we wanted to present our business on the web.
once we found heather’s beautiful feed on instagram, and heard firsthand rave reviews from fellow creatives, we reached out and hoped this would be the fit we were searching for!
heather immediately connected with us, and everything began to fall into place quickly and seamlessly. her talent and savvy in web design is impressive. her sweet demeanor and positive spirit in emails and during phone calls kept the process exciting, always moving in the right direction. a patient listener, her questions were sincere and intentional. she was receptive to our ideas and provided valuable feedback. it was clear she quickly understood our goals for our new website. we found we could collaborate with a fellow creative on the other side of the country and always felt on the same page. it was truly a team effort. often during phone calls, she would make changes in real time so we could test ideas and keep moving toward the final design.
it was an amazing process,
it was fun!
another goal of our rebranding process was the desire to create a new logo which reflected our work and unique personality as a floral studio. heather was happy to refer us to the amazingly talented kaylyn of pirouette paper. kaylyn designed a new logo and calligraphed a gorgeous custom ampersand for velvet&twine that is in itself a work of art!
we highly recommend the editor’s touch.
you will be in good hands.
— molly, lisa & barbie - velvet&twine

From our first call to our most recent one, the time I spent designing for Molly, Lisa, and Barbie of Velvet & Twine (a floral design studio in College Park Florida) was nothing but PURE JOY ... if you are a business owner, then you know those clients are rare and when you have one, it renews every reason you ever had for becoming a business owner ... it makes you LOVE your job even more than you already do ... and it fills your gas tank so you can deal with the 'not so easy' times as a business owner.

On top of being amazing people through and through these 3 KNOW THEIR BLOOMS and create some of the most incredible florals I have ever seen ... designing for them was a dream and I often joked that I could have closed my eyes and pulled images blind because each was was SO BEAUTIFUL ...

Before working with me, Velvet & Twine had this website and logo:

Aside from wanting a total refresh of their online face, it was also time for a new logo and I knew just who to call on ... Kaylyn of Pirouette Paper hand drew / calligraphy'd the most beautiful ampersand to play up their logo and I used it as inspiration for the entire overhaul of the web design ...

Below is the website I created for them ... their website has a 'welcome landing page' and then when you click in from that the page below is what you will see :)

By far the most fun part (as a designer) was creating their portfolio page ... I played with the STUNNING ampersand that Kaylyn of Pirouette Paper designed for them ... and created thumbnails that focused on the delicious florals these 3 ladies create ... see below:

... loving the new v&t website on an ipad ... one of my most important jobs is popping in and out of each device: laptop, desktop, phone, and tablet to make sure there isn't any funny business going on .... and this website looks top notch across them all!

All in all this project was a major success story and I can't wait to check in with Velvet & Twine in a few months to see how it's treating them and their floral business!
