Brand Camp Website Launch!
Happy First Day of Spring!!!!! I for one am SUPER ready for some sunshine … after the winter we had in Seattle, especially!! Haha!! Today is a very exciting day for me … it’s the website launch party for two ladies that I love and the phenomenal business that they grew together called:
I have designed websites for both of Molly and Rebecca’s individual businesses, so to be chosen to design a website for Brand Camp was the cherry on top of our already dripping with extra frosting cake!!
Brand Camp is a workshop for women business owners that is filled with all sorts of information and ‘take aways’ to grow your business even more and it’s amazing.
When it came time to sit down and be ‘creative’ for Brand Camp and design their website, I was in a very uninspired place creatively. I couldn’t ‘see’ what I wanted to see and it started to feel forced … being creatively awesome all the time is a completely unreasonable expectation that we, as creatives, often put on ourselves … and I had to be honest with Molly and Rebecca about my situation and LUCKILY for me, they were very understanding and gave me the space I needed to find the vision I was after for their brand.
CREATIVITY ISN’T ALWAYS CONVENIENT …
Sometimes your mind will clear and ‘see things’ in a place that isn’t ideal … haha … for instance, on an airplane returning from Las Vegas after a very wild weekend celebrating turning 40 … which is where I was when I ‘saw’ the look for Brand Camp.
I didn’t want to lose what I was feeling and I didn’t have a computer with me to free sketch it … and so I used whatever I had available … 2 flight tickets and a colored pencil … and below is the first sketch of the Brand Camp website (please excuse my horrid iPhone photo … lol):
Now that I had the vision ^^ secured visually, I was ready to take that home to my computer and make my magic for Brand Camp …
Below is the homepage I designed for them:
I had so much fun with color blocking and tilted shapes … diagonal photos and ‘hidden’ photos behind design elements … I love how it all works well together without being annoying … haha … and I absolutely LOVE it.
Below is a peek of their gallery page on an iPad … I love how all the thumbnails come together to create an artistic vibe and how playful it is while still maintaining its purpose:
… and of course, beautiful on an iPhone as well, shown below:
If you are a female entrepreneur who is wanting to take your business to the next level and kick even more ass than you already are, then learning from Molly, Rebecca, and all the incredible experts at Brand Camp is a MUST DO. They are hosting their next Brand Camp Retreat this fall in Malibu and I plan to be there too as a speaker!
