Molly + Co Website Launch Party!
Today is something I have needed for a long time … as some of you may know, August was a complete disaster for me … aside from having my own health concerns and personal ‘not wanted’ issues happen, my 5 year old daughter, Hadley, broke her arm and needed emergency surgery just one week into ‘Seattle summer’ (haha, we get about 4 weeks of hot weather up here …) and it completely stopped my ‘work world’ from continuing as “normal” because my attention pivoted to her care. To come back from a month like that, I was terrified … questions like: would I still have my creative edge ?? haunted me and I was afraid that the emotional turmoil of August would greatly affect my September … and then … I started designing for Molly + Co Photography …
Let’s just say, I needed this. It was therapuetic in the best possible ways … it showed me that I did still have ‘it’ … whatever ‘it’ is … and it allowed me to escape into the world of my computer and just ‘be’ there in design world and create something I didn’t even know would exist until I saw it. And when I saw it … the website that unveiled on my computer for Molly + Co (a Santa Barbara and destination wedding photographer …) … I knew it had to be it!
I’ve “known” Molly for years … known being that I’ve never actually met her, but we’ve had our relationship since I first launched The Editor’s Touch … she first came to me to discuss optimizing her Wordpress website (a service I no longer offer) and while it never came to be ‘hiring me’ we really enjoyed chatting and continued our relationship supporting each other across social media … I adore Molly … she’s such a real person in every sense of the word … and her photography … well, duh(!!), it’s incredible.
When she came to me and hired me to design her website … I was SO ready to begin.
Below is the homepage I designed for Molly:
I love how all the colors work so well together … how they are incorporated in the shapes … how it just oozes COME CLICK ON EVERYTHING and STAY AWHILE … but without all the extra chaos that her old website had …. I love it SO MUCH.
When it came to designing Molly’s portfolio page for her featured weddings I designed a page that made the photos POP OUT of the page for extra excitement … I love how it turned out:
Per usual: GORGEOUS on a mobile phone … which is where over 55% of Molly’s traffic will most likely be from:
…. and beautiful on a tablet too:
Molly, I am so happy we finally did this … that you chose me … that you allowed me to play and dream without boundaries … and that this stunning website was born!!! I’m so excited to see how this transforms your incredible photography business!!
